The 1st Western
79. The Wild Bunch (1969)- Ugh, where do I begin? First of all how this western made it past the twenty movies that came before it is beyond me! There are a few things I do not like in movies unless Brad Pitt is in the middle of them ... westerns, dirtiness, gun fights, and bloodshed. Needless to say if you do not like those as well, you won't like this movie. The plot was hard to follow and too many of the characters looked like each other. There were about four different groups of men/outlaws you had to try to focus on, and it ended up being a big old jumbled mess. Aging outlaws? Who wants to watch that? There were too many scenes where everyone just started laughing (when you wouldn't really laugh!), the blood looked like red paint, the camera angles were all fast, and again there was unnecessary boobage! Who wants to see a baby getting nursed on an unhappy Mexican woman? The only thing I did enjoy about this western were the fun nick-names they had when they were trying to insult one another. Most were too inappropriate to type here. I stay entertained through most movies, especially ones I have never seen. When I watch a movie, and a few days later I can't remember anything about it... then I know it either wasn't good or wasn't to me liking. I have a feeling I won't remember this movie come tomorrow. I give this movie a BIG TWO THUMBS DOWN!
