Twist and Turns at Every Corner!

55.North by Northwest (1959)- I have not seen an Alfred Hitchcock movie that I haven't liked. So far he is not letting me down. This movie kept it's viewers on their toes! Basically Cary Grant (wonderful) gets mistaken as a spy that someone is trying to get rid of. The movie continues to show the true identity of the spy and how everything is tightly wound together. I do not want to give anything away, but I will say that this movie was rather entertaining and exciting. I think that the viewer is supposed to be confused, but everything gets explained in the end! A Big TWO THUMBS UP!

SHARK!

56.Jaws (1975)- Who does not like Jaws? If you haven't seen it, you should because it is a classic. I do not like horror films, but does a crazy white shark really count? Nah! This movie has such good lines and scenes that you forget you are supposed to be scared of a great white shark. I had not seen the end of this movie in an extremely long time. I kind of forgot how crazy it gets. That shark gets pretty darn mad! There is not a lot I could say about this movie except, if you haven't seen it... WATCH IT! Classic! TWO THUMBS UP!

57. Rocky (1976)- Yo! Ok, so everyone has heard of Rocky! It's the Eye of the Tiger, It's the Thrill of the Fight! My favorite part of the movie was that Rocky walks down the street constantly jabbing the air. Don't jump him cause he is always ready to go! I had seen parts of Rocky, but never the whole thing all at once. I have been told by many that the many sequels are better and more fun than the original. I do not know about that yet, but this movie isn't too bad. Some things came off a bit confusing, like why Adrian's brother has to be so mean?? Necessary? Anywho, this movie will get a hand from me because it understandably deserves to have a spot on the list. But did he have to lose at the end?

Getting Ready For a Snow Storm!

58.The Gold Rush (1925)- Charlie Chaplin actor on the list that has yet to let me down. So far the two Chaplin movies on the list have been rather entertaining. The Gold Rush had a completely different feel than Modern Times, however kept you laughing just the same. Any movie where someone can eat a shoe, and make it entertaining, is alright by me. That does sound rather odd, but don't let it fool you. This movie was pretty darn good. You may not think you would like a silent film, but this movie may just change your mind. A Big THUMBS UP!

Who Knew Country Music Could Be So Confusing?

59.Nashville (1975)- Ughhhhhhhh! What was this movie even about? I am not sure I could tell you. I am not even sure why it is on AFI's list. It definitely had enough actors and stars to make a great movie, but then again that made it all the more confusing. The basic story line has something to do with country singers... and that is about all I can tell you. Oh, and somebody randomly dies at the end?!?! This movie left my husband and I looking at the TV screen with a confused look on our faces from beginning scene to ending credits. The highlight of the movie was a very young, random Jeff Goldblum. Whatever else you think is going to be a good part of the movie, turns on you and leaves you asking why? So I will ask, Why AFI? Why did you put this on the list? TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Soup Anyone?

60. Duck Soup (1933)- Pretty much a great summary of the Marx Brothers. This movie is very entertaining and wonderfully funny. The highlight of the movie for me was the interaction of the brothers. They played off one another so wonderfully in this movie. Groucho Marx is definitely a great witty dictator of the country of Freedonia, but the best part of the movie is when Harpo and Chico tease a grumpy street vendor. The scene is choreographed so great! My husband and I kept laughing throughout the entire interaction. I would definitely put this movie in front of a Night at the Opera. But then again, I would recommend any Marx Brothers movie to almost anyone! Big Thumbs Up!

By Bus, Plane or Car...

61. Sullivan's Travels (1941)- Not to be confused with Gulliver's Travels. Now, most of the movies on this list have been seen by my mother and father-in-law. Therefore, when neither one of them had even really heard of this movie, it left me feeling a little nervous. However, there is nothing better than getting a great surprise of a good movie that you can tell people they should watch! This movie is about a movie director, played by Joel McCrea, who is tired of making boring old comedy movies. He decides to go on a journey so he knows what it is like to be a Hobo so he can then make a dramatic movie. Little bit of a stretch of a story line, but nonetheless, pretty good movie. It is rather entertaining and keeps you on your toes with crazy plot twists. This movie was definitely a refreshing spot on the list. Thank you AFI for entertaining me again! Big Thumbs Up!
